A staple of Picnic with the Pops are our contests. This year, guests are encouraged to participate in the Table Decorating Contest, Rockstar Look-A-Like Contest and the Themed Cocktail Contest.

Whether made at home, catered by professionals, or from one of our local food trucks, great food has always been a central part of the Picnic with the Pops experience!

The Picnic With The Pops Commission
Started in 1980 by a group that included former Lexington Mayor Jim Amato, and Thomas Minter, who served as the chairman of the event until 2012, Picnic with the Pops is now run by a city-appointed commission of volunteers who plan the yearly outdoor live music event.
